NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

 Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held by the Village Board of the Village of Greene at Greene Fire Department, 8 North Canal Street, Greene, NY on May 29, 2025 at 6:30 p.m. regarding a local law entitled “A LOCAL LAW REZONING 9 BIRDSALL STREET FROM THE RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT TO THE PLANNED DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT-COMMERCIAL.”
 TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that the environmental significance of said proposed Local Law will be reviewed by the Village Board incident to and as a part of said public hearing.
 Any person is entitled to be heard upon said proposed local law at such public hearing.  Communications in writing in relation thereto may be filed with the Village Board prior to the public hearing. Persons with disabilities who require assistance should contact the undersigned to request such assistance.

VILLAGE OF GREENE SPRING CLEAN UP 2025
 Starting Monday, April 14, 2025 through Friday, June 6, 2025
 The Village of Greene crew will pick up yard waste on MONDAY AND FRIDAY ONLY

**Materials (yard waste only) must be in clear plastic bags or tied bundles of sticks/branches/twigs, (NOT shrubs, bushes, and tree limbs) and placed at the curbside. Yard waste is:  leaves, weeds, grass clippings, dead flowers (not in the pots), twigs, sticks, and branches. Maximum size for branches, sticks, and twigs is 4 inches in diameter/4 feet in length. Garbage cannot be mixed with yard waste.**

On December 16, 2021, the federal Lead and Copper Rule Revisions (LCRR) went into effect, which requires every federally defined community and non-transient, non-community water system to develop a service line inventory and to make this information publicly available.  If you have any questions about your service line, please contact the Village of Greene at 607-656-4500.

Welcome to the Town of Greene, NY.   The Town government is run by an elective legislative body, the Town Board.  They are responsible for making the present-day decisions.  Only in special instances is a vote of the inhabitants of the Town required.  When a town board member votes on a proposal before a town board, he or she is representing, through that vote, the views of all of the residents of the town.  The Town Board consists of a Supervisor and four Council-persons.
The Town Board meets the third Wednesday of every month at the Town Hall, 51 Genesee Street, Greene, New York, at 6:00 PM.
The Public is always “Welcome”.
The Town of Greene Town Office building is Handicap accessible.

Town of Greene Highway Department
Immediate Position Opening
 The Town of Greene, Highway Department will consider applications for the position of Motor Equipment Operator (MEO). Application forms and a position description are available at the office of the Greene Town Clerk, 51 Genesee Street, Greene, NY  13778. Applicants must have a valid CDL license with no automatic restriction, and snow plowing experience along with heavy and light equipment experience is preferred. One year minimum full-time paid experience is required. All applications will be reviewed by Chenango County Civil Service department for approval of required qualifications. Applications must be received by the Town Clerk no later than 3 PM Monday – Thursday and by 11AM on Friday. Questions should be directed to Highway Superintendent, Nicholas Drew at 607-656-8762 between 8AM and 2PM Monday - Friday
