MISSION
The Town of Greene Highway Department is a service organization. Our mission is to provide the residents of Greene high quality, economically efficient snow removal, road maintenance, repair and improvement on 84.40 center lane miles.
STRATEGY
The Highway Department endeavors to improve the basic structure of town roads, thereby reducing the level of annual maintenance required. Specifically, improvement projects are designed to provide for a ten plus year life and reduce or eliminate annual maintenance tasks. Base stabilization, pavement overlays and asphalt surfacing of gravel roads are some of the techniques used in pursuing this strategy.
